Award-winning play, Constellations, was produced by Raul Avila Munoz at La Teatria in Mexico City. Constellations is a theater play that received multiple awards that made its playwright, Nick Payne, an award-winning playwright.

The play is about two people, Roland, a beekeeper, and Marianne, a cosmologist. We follow different scenarios of their romantic relationship. Marianne likes to talk about cosmology, quantum mechanics, string theory, and the belief of having several universes that show people’s lives going into various directions. This belief covers how the play is structured, showing several scenes that are repeated but have different outcomes.

Alonso Pineda, Raul Munoz’ co-producer, pitched the script to Mx. Munoz. “When my collaborator, Alonso, brought me the script, I immediately fell in love with it. I told him that this full-length show must be shared with our audiences in Mexico.” Mx. Munoz shares.

Constellations was then adapted for the Mexican audience and the show was then titled, Constelaciones. Constelaciones had showings of over 20 weeks at the La Teatreria in Mexico City. Constelaciones enjoyed sold-out shows with people vying for more tickets. “It came to the point that even some of my friends missed it because there weren’t any tickets any longer” Raul shares.

Supplemented by an award-winning creative team and directed by one of the best directors in Mexico City, Constelaciones that was produced by Mx. Munoz is one for the books in Mexico City.
